FAQs

Answers to the questions we are asked most often about Vinh Hung Travel -- bookings, how we choose what to recommend, contributing, corrections and the newsletter.

If your question is not answered here, write to us at [email protected] and we will do our best to help.

Can I book a trip or a hotel through you?

No. Vinh Hung Travel is a publication, not a travel agency. We do not take bookings, sell tours or act as an agent. Our articles link to the hotels, airlines and booking platforms themselves, and any booking you make is a contract between you and that provider.

Does it cost anything to read?

No. The whole site is free to read and there is no paywall or account to create. The site is supported by advertising and by affiliate commissions on some recommendations.

How do you choose what to recommend?

Someone goes. We recommend hotels we have stayed in, restaurants we have eaten at and routes we have taken, and we say plainly what a place is good at and what it is not. Nothing is added to a list because a brand asked.

Do you earn money from your recommendations?

Sometimes, yes. Many articles contain affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you book or buy through one -- at no extra cost to you. What we recommend is decided before any commission is considered, and hosted or discounted stays are disclosed in the article itself.

Is the information in your guides up to date?

Every article carries a date, which is the honest answer to this question. Travel details change fast: restaurants close, prices move, routes are withdrawn and visa rules change. We update pieces when we learn something has changed, but always confirm current prices, opening hours, entry requirements and safety advice with the provider and with your government's official travel advisory before you travel.

Can I republish or translate your articles?

Not without permission. You are welcome to quote a short extract with clear attribution and a link back to the original. For anything more -- syndication, translation, republication in full, or use of our photographs -- write to [email protected] first, with "Permissions" in the subject line.

I found a mistake, or a place that has closed. How do I report it?

Please tell us. Send the article link and what has changed to [email protected], with "Correction" in the subject line. We check every report and update the article where it is warranted.

Can I write for you?

Yes. We take a limited number of contributions from writers and photographers with real, first-hand knowledge of a place. Send a short pitch -- the story, why you are the person to tell it, and a link to something you have written -- to [email protected], with "Pitch" in the subject line. We do not accept purely promotional posts or link placements.

Do you accept sponsored posts, press trips or paid links?

We accept clearly labelled sponsored content and standard advertising, and we occasionally accept hosted stays, which are always disclosed in the article. We do not sell links inside editorial articles, and a hosted stay never buys a positive review. Commercial enquiries go to [email protected], with "Advertising" in the subject line.

How do I subscribe to the newsletter, and how do I stop?

Use the subscribe box in the site footer. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom, which takes effect immediately. We do not share subscriber addresses with anyone.

What data do you collect about me?

Standard request logs, analytics, and whatever you choose to send us. It is all set out in the Privacy Policy, including how to ask for a copy of your data or have it deleted.

How can I get in touch?

The contact page lists an address for each kind of enquiry. General questions are always welcome at [email protected].
