Vinh Hung Travel exists for the part of travel that guidebooks flatten: the reason a place is worth the journey, told by someone who actually went. We write long, we write specifically, and we would rather cover ten streets properly than a whole country in bullet points.

What we cover

• Destinations. Places worth the flight, and what to do once you have landed -- written by people who spent real time there.
• Hotels and stays. Hotels, guesthouses and rentals we would book again, with honest notes on what you are paying for.
• Food and drink. The meals that define a place, from street stalls to tasting rooms.
• Travel guides. Practical itineraries and how-to pieces for the trips people actually plan.
• Flights and transport. Getting there and getting around, without the folklore.
• Gear and packing. The things that survive a year of travel, and the things that do not.
• Deals and offers. Genuine savings, checked before we publish them.

How we work

Every article is written by a person who went to the place, ate at the restaurant or stayed in the room. Pieces are checked before they are published and dated, so you can see how fresh the information is. When something changes -- a closure, a route withdrawn, a price that has moved -- we update the article and say what changed.

Where a stay, meal or trip was hosted or discounted, we disclose it in the article. Many of our recommendations carry affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you book through one. It costs you nothing extra and it does not buy a recommendation: what goes on the list is decided before anyone looks at the commercial terms.

What we are not

We are a publication, not a travel agency. We do not sell trips, take bookings or act as an agent for anyone. Our job is to help you decide where to go and what is worth your money -- the booking happens somewhere else, on that provider's terms.
