With more travelers seeking longer stays in remote locations, these Turks and Caicos resorts fit the bill this year.

It isn’t possible for the Condé Nast Traveler team to see and do everything, everywhere, all at once—though we try our best! Fortunately, we also have you, our readers. This year you cast an astonishing 757,109 votes in the 38th annual Readers’ Choice Awards survey, sharing your opinions on the very best in travel. You told us you were enchanted by Italian hotels, went on safari in Botswana, took to semiprivate aviation, and advocated for newcomers to the top American cities. We loved poring over the results to find out what’s sticking with readers and editors and spinning the data into a snapshot of the current moment in travel. Ahead: your manual for planning that next adventure, whether it’s to a top-rated hotel or resort, or centered around a worthy cruise, spa, or island. These are the best resorts in Mexico, as voted by our readers.

Gold List 2018, 2019, 2020
Readers’ Choice Awards 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025
The sand at wellness-pioneer COMO Parrot Cay might be the whitest in the Caribbean, but the massages at its Shambhala Retreat are so effective that visitors may spend more time in the treatment rooms than on the beach. That’s more or less what your days will consist of—not to mention biking around the island, snorkeling, kayaking, and dawdling over long feasts. The only reason to wear a watch is to make sure you don’t miss yoga. For those who prefer their Caribbean hotels a bit more hedonistic, you can always skip the green juice and slurp a mojito at the bar, which Keith Richards has been known to frequent when he’s in residence. The Rolling Stone is just one of the island’s famous homeowners. Donna Karan has called her Balinese-inspired villa on Parrot Cay “a sanctuary where I go to create awareness.” This is a wide-open, big-hearted place that puts beach life first.

The Palms Turks and Caicos

Readers’ Choice Awards 2025
Sometimes, you just want a vacation that requires nothing beyond trotting between the beach and pool and back again. The Palms, which just unveiled a top-to-toe renovation of its pool deck (along with a new restaurant and other spruced up nuts and bolts), is the venue for that. Bring a stack of books and few plans other than dinner reservations. Room options span one, two, and three-bedroom suites, with high ceilings, plenty of natural light. Additionally, there are also eight penthouse suites for even more space. Penthouse suites also have outdoor showers if you’re the kind of traveler who fancies a rinse below the palm trees, and all suites come with spacious balconies to wind down on after a day of sun, many of which have excellent views of the ocean. The Palms is known for its spa, having clocked up a few awards for it over the years, and takes up an entire acre of the 12 the property spans. Once checked in, you could easily spend the whole day: There are tinkling water features and cabanas to retreat to before or after a treatment, as well as a sauna and steam room to dip in and out of as you please.

4. Ambergris Cay
Readers’ Choice Awards 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025
Located in the southwest Atlantic off the main chain of Turks and Caicos, the remote island of Ambergris Cay (not to be confused with Ambergris Caye in Belize) melds wildlife and azure waters with private plunge pools and butler service in standalone beachfront villas. The underdeveloped island, which has long partnered with the San Diego Zoo for animal-research programs, is home to 10 oceanfront resort suites and 20 villas, and offers bikes and golf carts for milling between the private pool and beach activities. Guests arrive by private air transfer, and for those staying in a suite the two on-site dining options are bolstered by complimentary in-room dining available 24 hours a day.

Readers’ Choice Awards 2025
Pine Cay doesn’t rely on flashy amenities—it doesn’t have to. This private island in Turks and Caicos boasts some of Earth’s most extraordinary beaches, with sandbars that stretch for miles across luminous shallows, making it feel as if you’re walking on water. Simple, beach-chic rooms with blonde wood finishes and screened-in porches keep Caribbean blues always in view, while each unit comes with its own private beach tiki—no loungers to fight over here. The vibe is pure digital detox: no TVs, limited cell service, and a pace that shifts with the tides. Daily guided activities introduce visitors to the island’s best, both on land and under the sea, but more intrepid types can grab an island map and find their own way to its natural treasures. Depending on the season, expect flamingo sightings, mating glowworms illuminating the waters, and languid mornings in the “aquarium,” a placid lagoon perfect for kayaking and snorkeling among rays and sea turtles. Preserved by resident homeowners and painted in ever-changing colors, Pine Cay feels less like a vacation—and more like a secret you’ll never want to share.

Hot List 2017
Readers’ Choice Awards 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025
Away from the developed chaos of Grace Bay, the Shore Club occupies a prime stretch of Long Bay Beach—stunning but still secluded, and minutes from Provo’s town center. The design is classic and the dominant color is turquoise, as in the ocean and sky that are visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows with views in which you can just lose yourself. Elsewhere, there are plenty of distractions. Rates include complimentary use of non-motorized water sports equipment, and the bells and whistles include the Dune Spa, a fitness center with a private tennis court and lap pool, four restaurants including the Peruvian-Japanese Sui-Ren and the family-friendly Caribbean-inspired Sea Grapes, a smart boutique, four swimming pools (adults, family, exercise, and a bonus), and a kids club.

Readers’ Choice Awards 2025
This first-time Readers’ Choice Awards winner earned the number one spot in Turks and Caicos resorts, and it’s an honor well-deserved. Salterra balances solitude and serenity with grace. Backgrounding the sprawling complex is a skirt of rugged cliffs and leafy tropical flora—the stuff of our beach getaway daydreams. With staff-organized excursions across the gin-clear Caribbean, a seaside garden sprinkled with lounge chairs begging for sunbathers, and a state-of-the-art spa with eight treatment rooms, whether you’re up for an adventure or down for a little R&R, the choice is truly yours. While the island is only home to 1,100 total residents, guests in search of an even greater sense of privacy can book private cabanas looking over the four sun-lit pools that bleed into the horizon.
